The Summer Funding Collaborative (SFC) is excited to offer a series of in-person and virtual professional development (PD) sessions for Baltimore-based summer programs whose participants are youth and young adults ages 0-24. Unless noted otherwise, these opportunities are open to ANY youth serving organization in Baltimore, including SFC 2023 Grantees. Attendance is encouraged for program leads and program staff who will be supporting program participants, parents, and caregivers throughout the summer. Vicarious Trauma & Building Resiliency Online Training This is an online asynchronous opportunity. This is facilitated by Baltimore Child Abuse Center Online Training Institute and is open to any youth-serving organization. Professionals will learn how to identify and define vicarious trauma, and more importantly will learn how to strengthen themselves and their organizations against compassion fatigue and burnout. Seeing Beyond the Picture: Technology Facilitated Child Sexual Exploitation This is an online asynchronous opportunity. This is facilitated by Baltimore Child Abuse Center Online Training Institute and is open to any youth-serving organization. This training will provide a general overview of the problem and investigative procedures of technology facilitated child sexual exploitation. Along with strategies and tips for engaging families and youth who have been victimized through technology-facilitated sexual exploitation, the training will explore what these crimes are and how they happen.
